OutSFL Highlights Father Lee and Our Parish’s Ministry of Welcome

We’re grateful to OutSFL and writer Mary Rasura for featuring Father Lee Davis in the publication’s Out & Proud 2026 series. Her article, “Father Lee Davis | Building a Church Without Side Doors,” explores his journey as an openly gay priest and the ministry we share at St. Mary Magdalene & St. Martin Episcopal Church.

Rasura’s profile connects Father Lee’s experiences in the Navy and the church with his commitment to a parish where LGBTQ people, immigrants, and others wounded by religious rejection can find belonging. It also recognizes our congregation’s generosity, highlighting nearly $2 million directed into the wider community through grants and outreach.

Although the profile features Father Lee, the ministry it describes belongs to this whole congregation. Every person who welcomes a newcomer, supports our outreach, or helps someone feel at home has a part in this story.

Thank you to Mary Rasura and OutSFL for sharing it—and to everyone who helps our parish put love into practice.
